The Wooden Footbridge over the Creek
When you arrive at
Timberwolf Creek, you'll park just off our country lane, and
enter our magical realm via this wooden footbridge. Past
the waterwheel, and up the stone steps, you'll find peace and
tranquility on our mountainside. You just can't beat
sleeping to the sound of the creek tumbling past your Smoky
Mountain hideaway.

Detail of the Footbridge Railing
Colonel Pugmire built the bridge railing
of strong saplings and rope. While having the appearance
of a primitive work, the bridge is actually supported by steel
beams - which have just enough "spring" for the bridge
to give a little when you cross it!

The Waterwheel
There's a swing beside the waterwheel for
you to relax in with a cool drink and a good book.

Handhewn Stone Stairway
This stairway is visible from the front of
the entry, even though it's behind the inn! To preserve two
100-foot-tall Tulip trees (aka Yellow Poplar), the entryway was
built to weave around them -and almost entirely made of glass!
Take these stairs to a country road (Tanglewood Lane) that
will lead you to a myriad of lovely walks.

Ivy Covered Fence
Now, how often is this the setting for
your parking lot?? The creek bank drops away sharply behind the
fence - you can see the water in the shadows of this picture.

Timberwolf Creek
On warm spring mornings, bright summer
days, and during autumn's balmy weather, enjoy your breakfast on
The South Deck. This is the view from your breakfast
table! Look in another direction and you'll see the horses
grazing in the pasture across our country lane, and beyond that
another mountain rising into the sky.

Dine under nature's canopy...
...of Poplar, ancient Hemlocks, and soaring Tulip trees,
surrounded by Appalachian finery. Sunny winter afternoons
are best enjoyed on the Deck beside the outdoor fireplace.
Marshmallows upon request. |

The pathway between
the Guest House and the
Main House
This meandering stone-lined path, reminiscent of Hansel
& Gretel and fairytale woods, joins the Guest House to the
Main House at Timberwolf Creek. Lined with native stones and
boulders, it puts you under the misty scented boughs of the
Smokies as you pass from bed to breakfast, and back...
